Diabetes Specialist Midwife

Job summary

The Diabetes in Pregnancy Service at BAsildon is looking for motivated and experienced midwife to join our team.

This exciting opportunity would enable you to develop your midwifery skills further in the specialist area of diabetes in pregnancy.

You would be working as part of a multidisciplinary team providing care to women with pre-existing diabetes or complex gestational diabetes in MDT antenatal clinics.

You would also become a source of support and knowledge for the wider maternity team; providing training, and advice when required and reviewing women on the wards.

Main duties of the job

You will have the opportunity to develop their specialist diabetes clinical skills. You will also work closely with the multidisciplinary team and provide support to women, midwifery and non-midwifery staff ensuring effective management of diabetes.

You will be responsible for implementing appropriate actions when resources . Liaise with all agencies and disciplines. Lead by example, demonstrating a proven record of sound leadership, management skills, courtesy and diplomacy, when dealing with colleagues and the general public.
