Highly Specialist Paediatric Dietitian

Job summary

We are currently welcoming applications for a part time band 7 Paediatric Dietitian to join our friendly community team working within the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Within this role the post holder will deliver paediatric dietetic care in a variety of locations including community based out-patient clinics, patients' homes and special schools. Managing paediatric patients on home enteral feeds will form a large part of this role. The role would be well suited to a Dietitian who is passionate about supporting patients and their families through the journey from hospital to home.

You will have the opportunity to work as part of an integrated children's service with highly experienced paediatric community team. To facilitate effective mobile working you will be equipped with mobile working solutions such as an ipad/laptop, whilst still benefiting from a shared office space within a multidisciplinary Children's Services hub. You will form an important part of the multidisciplinary team for children with complex needs.

The successful candidate will have excellent leadership, organisation and communication skills. All relevant training and regular supervision will be provided and you will be supported by the wider dietetic team and Head of Dietetics. Oxleas NHS foundation trust currently provide student training for students on placement 1 and 2.

Job responsibilities

The Highly Specialist Community Peadiatric Dietitian will be responsible for the integration and provision of a comprehensive and quality dietetic service for all infants and children across the paediatric range (0-19 years) within the borough of Greenwich. Supporting families at home with enteral tube feeding will make up a large part of the role.

The post holder will use expert knowledge and experience to educate and support patients and their carers regarding their dietary management at home. This post includes responsibility for providing cover for specialist paediatric dietetic outpatient clinics.
