This post will allow an experienced paediatric dietitian, or an experienced dietitian who would like a change, and to work with children, to develop expertise within paediatrics and advanced clinical skills across a broad range of paediatric conditions and settings.
This role gives you the chance to work in general paediatrics and also Paediatric Diabetes, within established multidisciplinary teams providing expert nutritional advice to professionals, patients and carers. It will be based at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford and will cover both inpatients and outpatients. As part of the role there may be a need to work across other sites within the wider MSE paediatric dietetic team.

The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner in providing dietetic assessment, treatment, and management to their own designated caseload of patients and to maintain up to date dietetic records.
They will use evidence-based principles and current best practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate dietetic interventions.
They will act as a source of expertise and provide a nutrition and dietetic service into the Paediatric caseload at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.
To work as an enthusiastic and effective team member, communicating appropriately with patients, carers, other team members and with members of the MDT as required.
To be responsible for a defined area of the service and be confident undertaking all aspects of clinical duties including assessing, treating and managing own caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner, working without direct supervision and maintaining comprehensive records.
The post holder will be responsible for supervising, educating and assessing the performance of students and supporting the development of junior staff.
To undertake evidence-based projects to further the clinical practice of self and the team, and to enhance patient care. To participate in clinical audits and service development.

The Children's dietetic service is an integral part of the Trustwide Children's Therapies team and we work closely with other therapy colleagues.
We have site based team leads as well as an MSE wide Children's Therapy lead and Head of Therapies. We also work closely with our adult counterparts.
