An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to apply for a post within Personality and Complex Trauma (PACT) Service within FTB.
This team is for young people with complex presentations and works with young people both in the community and in reaching into hospital. The team is a combination of Specialist Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Lived Experience, Psychology, Art Psychotherapy and Community & Peer Support Workers and there is a ethos of shared team working. The role requires a highly skilled OT who has exceptional skills in the clinical management of young people with emotional, social and interpersonal difficulties often with complex trauma. You will have the opportunity to work with young people to promote safety and to help them to recognise their strengths using a goal based approach. There are opportunities to co work both within the team and to work closely with core services.
Feedback from PACT team members:
I really value being part of a team that has a profound impact on young people. It offers hope to young people who have felt there is none and helped young people to feel empowered to make changes using the stabilisation work we have completed.
If you are interested in developing your clinical skills in working with young people with complex needs, and also having the freedom and support to work creatively then this is the job for you.
The post holder will be expected to hold a small clinical caseload 6-8 young people. The work is city wide and MDT based. You will have the opportunity to help both young people and services around them. We have a personality disorder unit panel to review young peoples pathway in services and how we can help work towards increased independence and return to the community.
This role will allow the development/ consolidation of specialist Occupational Therapy skills; independent working, managing an Occupation Focused caseload, supporting the wider MDT through generic tasks such as initial assessments.
This is an amazing opportunity to support our team to develop Occupational Formulations, Occupation focused interventions, sensory pathways and strategies.
This post will work closely with the multidisciplinary team, and the CORE CAMHs Teams, and with external partner agencies involved in the care of the young people with complex needs
Core working hours are Monday-Friday 9-5 however flexibility to meet the needs of our children, young people and families is essential. A driving license and access to a car daily for work purposes is also essential as the service is citywide.
