Main duties of the job

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • GMC registration to practice as a GP
  • On GP Performers list
  • MRCGP
  • Membership of a medical defence union
  • Able to practice medicine in the UK independently
  • Engagement in ongoing professional development
  • Ability to/enthusiasm for supervising trainees and medical students (support will be provided for this)
  • Self motivated and able to work independently with support from the wider clinical team
  • Interested in actively addressing the health needs of the practice population
  • Competence in skills needed for the role GP - eg communication, IT, interpersonal, teamworking, time-management

Desirable

  • Interest in teaching and/or training
  • Interest in community working eg care home or school clinical support
  • Interest in developing leadership roles within the practice
  • Understanding of local (Coventry) primary care service provision
