Our Porters provide an invaluable service transporting patients on beds, trolleys and wheelchairs around the hospital site. They are also involved with various other duties, including moving furniture, delivering supplies and changing medical gases, for example, oxygen cylinders.
We oversee the post room and support with the delivery & collection of mail & records.
To succeed in this role, you must be well-presented, have excellent communication skills, be flexible and adaptable, and demonstrate a genuinely caring approach to others.
Porters work various early and late shifts (averaging 37.5 hours per week), including some weekends. Therefore, Saturday & Sunday work attracts a weekend enhancement in addition to the basic salary.
We offer excellent holidays (27 days annual leave rising to 33 days after 10 years' service (inclusive of public holidays)), a generous NHS pension scheme, and uniform and sick pay.
A comprehensive 5-day training package is provided, and Porters can complete an apprenticeship incorporating NVQ level 2 in customer services as part of their ongoing personal development.
