Applications are invited for a full-time (5PA) Locum Consultant post in the Department of Renal Medicine and Transplantation at Barts Health NHS Trust to commence from immediate effect for 6 months. The department is one of the largest and busiest in the UK and provides comprehensive whole-pathway renal & transplant care from the hub in Whitechapel to six networked kidney centres.
There is a strong academic tradition within the Centre for Translational Medicine & Therapeutics at the William Harvey Research Institute (Queen Mary, University of London), along with the recently established the Diabetic Kidney Centre in East London. There is also a commitment to excellence in undergraduate and post-graduate teaching. The post includes chronic dialysis haemodialysis program, specialist IgA and transplant clinic and ambulatory care.

To contribute to the development and provision of a comprehensive renal service at Barts Health NHS Trust with a focus on haemodialysis, nephrology, and transplantation. To provide evidence -based care for all inpatients and outpatients. To have regard at all times to the clinical and quality standards set out in relevant NHS guidance and the Care Quality Commission, including the 18 weeks waiting time standard. To participate fully in the management of the Department and to liaise closely with the Lead Clinician, Service Manager, General Manager and Clinical Director. The post holder may be required to carry out other duties in emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
