Community midwives work in local teams, providing an integrated service for women and their families in the area. As lead midwife at a local community clinic, you will work as part of a team to support women and babies before, during and after birth.
Each team provides:
o antenatal care and support with home birthing, for women and families within Camden, Islington, Barbican and Sohoo support for women within our birthing centre in the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson wing, next to University College Hospitalo post-natal care, in-clinic and via home/community visits.
You will be on-call once or twice monthly for home births. A shift pattern including night and weekend working is in place at the birthing centre; this attracts a pay supplement.Whether working at the birthing centre or within the community, you will be fully supported by the senior maternity team.
